Concours d’Etat: entry list (concept car)

Five manufacturers whose names are synonymous with luxury and performance have chosen the 4rd Chantilly Concours d’Elegance to present a concept car. DS Automobiles, Aston Martin, McLaren, Renault and Citroën have selected the concept cars and fashion houses in which they have placed their hopes to seduce the jury and the public at the 2017 event. The winner of the Concours d’Elegance in 2016 with DS E-Tense, voted the most beautiful car, the DS brand will be defending its title with an exceptional and unique model which has already marked French history: the Presidential DS 7 Crossback.

Following its first official appearance on 14 May for the first time in public on official ceremonial duties of the 25th French president, DS 7 Crossback will be continuing its debut at Domaine de Chantilly. The model will be taking part in the Concours d’Elegance in its Presidential version alongside a creation by Parisian fashion designer Eymeric François. A few weeks ahead of launch, visitors will be the first to appreciate the savoir-faire of DS’s engineers and craftsmen, expressed through the new model’s charismatic design…

Aston Martin and Zagato are proud to unveil the Vanquish Zagato Volante, the latest creation from their partnership existing for over 50 years, pairing Aston Martin’s acclaimed sporting, dynamic and material qualities with Zagato’s signature design language. The Vanquish Zagato Volante was designed in close collaboration between the Aston Martin Design team led by Marek Reichman and Andrea Zagato and his dedicated design team. The car is associated with the Belgian fashion house Ann Demeulemeester.

Lighter, stronger, faster… At its core is the carbon fibre Monocage II, a one-piece carbon fibre tub that includes the upper structure, thus reducing the weight and increasing the stiffness of the car. The design was inspired by the Great White Shark, as such the 720S presents a sleek, sculpted look, evoking fearsome power and ability. The shape is the next evolution of McLaren’s modern design language that maintains the passion for beautiful simplicity. The car is associated with the French fashion designer Haider Ackermann.

CONCEPT CAR: TREZOR
FASHION HOUSE: BALMAIN

The Trezor features striking red glazing and innovative carbon bodywork with contrasting surface finishes. Smooth and silken at the front, this bodywork mirrors the car’s dynamic character. At the rear, it features hexagonal panels that underline the Trezor’s sporting temperament and technology. The Trezor’s motor derives from the Renault e.dams, three-time winner of the Formula E Teams’ world title. The car is associated with the French fashion housse Balmain.

This car demonstrates the brand’s capacity to deploy its “Be Different, Feel Good” promise in the large saloon segment. In phase with the brand’s know-how and history, this latest creation features the global comfort that is a hallmark of Citroën vehicles. CXperience Concept is the latest demonstration of the “Citroën Advanced Comfort” programme, designed for the well-being and comfort of vehicle occupants. The car is associated with the Chinese fashion designer Yang Li.
