Magazine Peter Auto #10 – Résumé de la saison 2019

Episode #10 brings season 1 of the Magazine Peter Auto to a close with a retrospective of 2019. It also provides an opportunity to celebrate the champions of the different grids who provided so much on-track excitement and action during the meetings from April to October.

_The Espiritu de Montjuich on the Barcelona circuit kicked off the season at the beginning of April under a weak Catalonian sun with a first: the first-ever race in the history of Endurance Racing Legends! On the track prototypes and GTs from the 1990-2000s provided an opportunity to see very modern cars even though they were over 20 years old like the Bentley Speed 8, Saleen S7-R, Panoz Esperante GTI, Dodge Viper GTS-R, etc.

_The 28th running of the Tour Auto Optic 2000 was again a success for Partick Peter’s teams. With its start from under the glass dome of the Grand Palais, it has become a red-letter event on the Parisian springtime calendar and the journey across France was pure happiness for the 240 crews. Even though the weather wasn’t particularly clement during the five days of the rally, the races on the damp Charade circuit were one of the highlights like the drive to the west of France crowned by the finish beside the Channel in Deauville.

_The season continued at Spa-Francorchamps on one of the most beautiful and challenging circuits in the world. Going through the Raidillon in a Group C Racing car demands courage and is a real bravura performance. The high point of the weekend was the HTC night race that evoked the halcyon days of the Francorchamps 24 Hours. Spa was followed by the Grand Prix de l’Age d’Or, the Hungaroring Classic, Monza Historic and the Dix Mille Tours du Castellet where the champions of the series by Peter Auto were celebrated.

_Chantilly Arts & Elégance Richard Mille and the Rallye des légendes Richard Mille are two out-of-the-ordinary events that have their own special place on the Peter Auto calendar. At Chantilly the “art de vivre à la française” was celebrated with a top-class concours d’Etat and a Concours d’Elégance brought up to date in 2014. Activities galore were also on hand to enliven a Sunday afternoon stroll in the chateau’s marvellous park. The Rallye des légendes gave the owners of exceptional cars the opportunity to cover beautiful roads at a leisurely pace in tourist mode. In 2019, they visited Andalusia and enjoyed unforgettable visits like the discovery of the Alhambra palaces, which they had all to themselves!
